Key City Public Theatre presents “Henry IV Part 1,” the second play of William Shakespeare’s tetralogy, the Henriad, at Chetzemoka Park during the month of August.
“Henry IV, Part 1” was first performed in 1597 and examines England’s troubled 15th century. The questions the play raises are timeless, and fit into the modern political climate just as well as the era of regal usurpers, according to a press release.
Directed by Duncan Frost, “Henry IV” features David Natale as the titular character. Other cast members include Emily Huntingford, Anthony Philips, Maggie Jo Bulkley, Dylan Carter, Danny Willis, Ciara Halligan, Caleb Lumbard, Tom Challinor, Sam Cavallaro, Sharon Wenzler, Jim Guthrie, Lawrie Driscoll and many local youths who are to be performing in ensemble roles.
The production opens Aug. 4, and runs Friday-Sunday through Aug. 27, with shows beginning at 6 p.m. All performances are pay what you wish at the gate, with advance tickets, $24, available online at
keycitypublictheatre.org, or by phone at 360-385-KCPT (5278). Please bring your own seating.
