As a senior this year at Port Townsend High School, I will be leaving this fall to continue my studies in North Carolina.
As my last assignment, I recently wrote a letter to an eighth-grader about what high school was like.
The best advice I could give was to enjoy every moment that they get to spend here in Port Townsend.
This community has helped shape me more than anything else. No matter where I go, I’ll always wish I could stroll through the street market, watch the waves at Better Living, or sit at the bunkers in Fort Worden.
Thank you so much to the amazing people here who have cared so much about the high school orchestra, mock trial team and various other associations in the school.
I always felt that I could find someone in PT that could help me to accomplish my goals in whatever field.
I have cherished every moment of my life here. So many of us find PT boring on the outside. But, it’s what on the inside that really counts in our beautiful little world here.
Please, continue to support the high school. Your sense of community here creates a more understanding and accepting student body. Although I’m sad to go, I’m incredibly happy to know that I come from the best community in the world.
Thank you.
From, a very hopeful, happy (almost no longer a) high schooler.
