Helen A. Hood, 71, of Port Ludlow, WA passed away at home surrounded by her family on March 21, 2017. Helen was born on May 29, 1945 in Cannon City, CO. to George and Anna Lively.  She was the middle child in a family of 7. Her childhood was simple, but incredibly joyful and full of love. She married the love of her life, R. Kent Hood, on September 11, 1963, in Coeur D’ Alene, ID. Helen had a keen business mind. She enjoyed a successful career as a Mortgage Banker for over 30 years. She loved her family fiercely and shared her strong Christian faith with us all. She showed us how to love unconditionally and taught us the importance of family and forgiveness. Helen had a quick wit and a fabulous sense of humor. Her bright smile lit up the room. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, gardening, beach combing and travel. Helen loved warm weather. After retiring, she and Kent enjoyed several winters in the Arizona sun. She is preceded in death by her parents. Helen’s memory will live on with her loving husband, Kent; daughters, Shelli Cates (David) and Kimberly Hillier (Damon); brothers, Charles, Edward, George, and Louis Lively; sisters, Opal Long and Grace Howe; grandchildren, Tara, Ryan, Rodney and Jesse; and great-grandchildren, Lilly, Weston, Zoey and Joshua, Jr. Words cannot express how much she will be missed, but we know she is home with our Lord and Savior. A celebration of life service will be held on June 10th at 2:00 at Stone Chapel in Poulsbo.  An online memorial can be seen at www.poulsbomortuary.com.
