I met Heidi Eisenhour once she had already taken on leadership roles; she had just accepted the position of executive director at Jefferson Land Trust. Her persuasive style urged me to join the board of the land trust and together, we saw enormous growth and success across the organization. She formed committees to cultivate donors, shepherd the organization through the immensely complicated and rigorous accreditation process, take communication to a much higher level and generally operate in a highly professional manner.
We have maintained our friendship through the years, and I’ve watched Heidi take on nearly impossible feats in a wide variety of endeavors. Her positive nature, ability to “dream big” and her commitment to THIS community has given her not only the skills needed to take on an elected position, but also the ability to convene disparate groups to collaborate, brainstorm and eventually solve thorny problems. She continues to build coalitions and add to her extensive network of community leaders.
Besides being a perennial optimist, Heidi is approachable. She welcomes people into her world, always listening to their ideas as input when formulating her next steps. Heidi Eisenhour will make an incredible Jefferson County Commissioner!
