A public hearing for the transfer of up to 826 acres of forestlands into the Department of Natural Resources-managed Dabob Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area has been postponed until a later date.
An email sent out by the agency Monday noted that due to technical issues, DNR would be postponing the May 13 hearing.
DNR has proposed exchanging the State Forest Land Trust forestland near Quilcene for equally-valued parcels of Common School Trust forestland in the same area.
All of the parcels would remain under state ownership.
DNR will accept written comments on the land exchange until 5 p.m. Thursday, May 27. And those who wish to comment may email exchanges@dnr.wa.gov. Mailed comments may be addressed to the Department of Natural Resources, Conservation, Recreation and Transactions Division, Attn: Dabob Bay Inter-Trust Land Exchange, PO BOX 47014, Olympia, WA, 98504-7014.
