Golf benefit raises funds for Dove House

Posted

Low numbers on the greens raised a large number of greenbacks for a local charity.

A total of  $28,811 was raised to benefit clients of Dove House for the 10th Annual Dove House Golf Benefit.

The event was held in August and sponsored by the Peninsula Support Organization Bluebills at the Port Ludlow Golf Course.

All told, 19 major sponsors, 24 tee sponsors, and 25 volunteers gathered with 128 golfers teeing off for a noon shotgun to help give clients of Dove House hope and a better future.

Raffle tickets were sold throughout the day and drawings were held at the awards ceremony along with a silent auction. A special certificate was given to Garry Caven for volunteering to cater the bag lunch and spaghetti dinner at the Bay Club.

It took a village to make all of this happen and Myron Vogt’s presence was felt by all as he was the architect of this event from the start.
