My name is Dominic Svornich, and I’m excited to endorse Amanda Rae Funaro for county commissioner. 

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Amanda in a number of capacities over the years, beginning with our involvement in the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. We worked very closely during this time, and I can say without reservation that the skills she exemplified in that capacity are exactly what we need in local leadership.

In all our interactions, Amanda has consistently proven herself to be an intentional, thoughtful, and responsible individual, with the courage to speak her mind and stick to her values while always maintaining respect for her audience, and keeping everyone’s concerns in mind. Unity above all else is what our community, and all communities, need right now.

I know that Amanda is a candidate who can unite all residents of Jefferson County. I have faith in Amanda’s strength as a champion for social justice, and a defender of equality and human rights. And I also acknowledge that leadership in a rural county such as ours can’t be split into simple camps like “left” or “right.” Amanda is a listener and a doer. Her transparent leadership, responsible deliberation, and equal representation for those who may feel disenfranchised with our local government will give us strength and unity, and help guide us through our current crises and the future challenges we have yet to face.
