Friday, Dec. 9

• Festival of Lights. Noon-5 p.m., Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center, 3918 San Juan Ave. Shop locally for special gifts at the seventh annual Festival of Lights community crafts fair and cookie sale. The bazaar features unique handmade items, gifts for home and garden, spa and bath gifts; Christmas miniatures; psychic readings on Friday and Saturday; a silent auction; delicious hot soups; and a mouthwatering assortment of cookies for sale by the dozen. unitypt.org

• “Golden Gift from St. Nicholas for the People of Port Townsend.” 6 p.m., St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Christian Church, 1407 30th St. Come and hear the real story of St. Nicholas and be St. Herman’s guests at this festive event for the whole family. • Wild Rose Chorale & Friends holiday concert. 7 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 1111 Franklin St. This all-ages concert features the a cappella group Wild Rose Chorale, performing with the PT Youth Chorus, directed by Leslie Lewis, and the Summertime Singers, directed by Colleen Johnson. Saturday, Dec. 10

• Tri-Area Community Center Fair. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. In collaboration with the Chimacum Arts and Crafts Fair, a variety of vendors featuring crafts, antiques and flea market items are set up inside the center across the road from the high school. Admission is free.

• 30th Chimacum Arts and Crafts Fair. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Chimacum High School. More than 100 vendors with original products. Opening ceremony at 9:45 a.m. includes a community portrait. Admission is $3 per person, or $2 with a can of food for donation. Photos with Santa are available.

• Chimacum Grange Fair. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Chimacum Grange Hall, across the highway from the high school, hosts a crafts fair in collaboration with the Chimacum Arts and Crafts Fair. Admission is by donation.

• 6th annual Hand Work Studio. 11 a.m.-7 p.m., The Cotton Building. Shop for one-of-a-kind gifts from 16 local artisans.

• Kiwanis Choo Choo Rides. 1-4 p.m., downtown Port Townsend. Rides aboard the Kiwanis Choo Choo train are sponsored by Kiwanis and the Port Townsend Main Street Program. The suggested donation of $5 per person benefits the Arts in the Schools program. ptmainstreet.org

• Handwoven scarves and beaded pins open house. 10 a.m.-4 p.m., 900 Maple St. Cathie Wier and Pat Herkal have collaborated to create a unique collection of handwoven scarves and bead-embroidered pins for purchase.

• Quimper Grange Square Dance and Social. 8 p.m., Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St. Quimper Grange features lively squares and contras. A suggested donation of $10-$15 helps to maintain the Grange’s vintage dance floor and improve the community hall. quimpergrange.com

Tuesday, Dec. 13

• Jefferson County Library’s annual holiday open house. 3-6 p.m., Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., Port Hadlock. Join the library staff and board of trustees for the library’s annual holiday open house, featuring festive music, refreshments and seasonal craft projects. Materials are provided, and all ages are welcome. Crafts room open 3-5 p.m. (Note: The library’s Tech Tuesdays class and drop-in assistance takes the night off so that everyone can enjoy the festivities.)

• Reading of “A Christmas Carol.” 2:30-4:30 p.m., Discovery View, 1051 Hancock St. Arts to Elders presents “The Man of a Thousand Faces: Raven.” Raven has been performing “A Christmas Carol” for 22 years. He is to be reading Charles Dickens’ own abridged version. Raven is to begin the event with a holiday song accompanied by his partner, Pami-Sue, and then plunges into the story of “A Christmas Carol.” The free event is open to the public. The reading is presented in conjunction with the Northwind Arts Center and sponsored by the Port Townsend Arts Commission.
