April 21, 1936 – November 3, 2018 Francis Ronald Pettygrove, 83, was welcomed through the gates of Heaven on November 3, 2018. Born to Benjamin and Janey Bernice Pettygrove, “Ron,” as he was affectionately known as, grew up in Discovery Bay, WA. He graduated from Port Angeles High School then attended Washington State University but quickly discovered he missed home. He returned back to Kitsap County and began a distinguished 43-year career with Peninsula Truck Lines. He was well known, both locally and across the Interstate lines, for his friendly smile and engaging personality. He loved what he did and treated every customer like family. He met his first wife, Marlene, and had two sons. Eventually he married his second wife, Carole, and became a father of 4. A few years later he and Carole had their last child. After raising the seven children, he spoiled five grandchildren that he always said were his blessings from Heaven. He adored his family. He was a faithful husband and a loving father. Ron was passionate about the outdoors and improving the community in which he lived in. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed camping, sitting by a fire and hikes through the Olympic Mountain range. He was a faithful and dedicated Mason and Rotarian and supported his local community of Kitsap County by participating in many civic activities. His fellow Rotarians were very special to him and were considered his second family. There are no formal services planned at this time. A family gathering will be held to celebrate his life.
