Applications are now available for the Rhododendron Festival Queen’s Court (grades 7-8, boys and girls) and Junior Royalty (grade 1, boys and girls) for the 82nd festival in May 2017.
The application deadline for return or postmark is Jan. 7, 2017.
Application forms are available at public and private schools in East Jefferson County, or may be downloaded at Rhododendron Festival.
Applications should be mailed to Youth Royalties Director, P.O. Box 766, Port Townsend, WA 98368.
Rhody Fest Junior Royalty and Queen’s Court are included in the events scheduled for Rhody Fest week: Trike Race on Wednesday, May 17; Pet Parade on Thursday, May 18; Kiddies Parade on Friday, May 19; and Grand Parade on Saturday, May 20.
Candidates for the primary Rhody Royalty (high school) spots have already registered, and had a first meeting Dec. 19. The slate of candidates is to be announced in January. The coronation program is set for Saturday, March 4.
