The local nonprofit Far Reaches Botanical Conservancy invites all to visit the gardens for a rare "Open Day" on Friday, October 18th. You're welcome to look around from 10am to 3pm, with selected plants available to buy. The Conservancy acquires and conserves botanically significant wild and curated ornamental plants, with special emphasis on those that are threatened or vulnerable to loss. These plants are maintained as a living reference collection for education, public enjoyment and scientific purposes. Far Reaches is home to thousands of rare native and introduced ornamentals, many of which are imperiled in their native ranges. Far Reaches is located in Port Townsend, at 1818 Hastings Avenue.
