Evelyn Elene Mosher, a Pioneer Matriarch from Port Hadlock, lived 96 wonderful years. Evelyn was the second child of seven. Born to Bruce and Olivet Matheson of Port Hadlock on Christmas Day, 1923.
She passed away peacefully on March 24, 2020 at Port Townsend Life Care Center where she received so much warmth and love during this last year.
Evelyn has touched her whole community in many ways. She was a lifelong active member of the Community United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Women’s Society, Tri-Area Garden Club and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary at the Bruce F. Matheson post.
Evelyn was married to the love of her life Ray Mosher, just shy of 60 years.
Ray precedes her in Heaven along with her parents, daughter-in-law Cathy Mosher and four brothers, Bruce Matheson, JR., Bob Matheson, Bill Matheson and Larry Matheson.
She is survived by four children, Ron Mosher (Linda) of Nampa ID, Dan Mosher (Peggy) of Port Hadlock, Steve Mosher of Port Hadlock, and daughter Lori Witheridge (Bob) of Port Townsend and sisters Darlene Otta of Hillsboro OR, and Carol Elerding of Mountlake Terrace, Washington. Evelyn is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn had so much unconditional love for all the paths she crossed. Her Faith, family and friends were the most important. Her job God gave her on earth was to be the glue that holds a strong community and family together. Evelyn did just that! She will be truly missed by everyone who had the honor to know her.
