How to tax EV’s for local road usage. My friend recently went to the town hall meeting about the city raising the car tabs, adding $20 extra each year for several years for local road maintenance, which was not popular with all the people attending. Why not work with the power company and find out who all the electric vehicle registered owners are in Jefferson county and add a road usage fee/tax on their power bills. $50 per month per vehicle? We are already paying a road repair tax every time we fill up.
