Eugene Albert Racine was born on March 14, 1939. He recently passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 4, 2019. He is survived by his wife Debra Racine, children and grandchildren. Gene graduated from Port Townsend High School, he then joined the military and earned his Masters Unlimited Maritime Licence. He was the Captain on many tugboats and processing ships for several years, yet never learned how to swim. His favorite pastimes were playing his guitar and singing to his kids. Mostly Elvis, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams songs. He loved to fish, hunt and watch sports with friends and family. He made his way around town later in his life enjoying his favorite meal, breakfast. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and endless teasing of those he loved. He was a simple and humble man.
