ELECTION LETTER: ‘People’ skills needed: Vote for Van Hoover

Posted

It’s great to see the voter interest in the upcoming hospital board election. But as you make a choice for Commissioner Position 1, it is important to realize that the two candidates would bring very different professional skill sets to the board.

Cheri Van Hoover has had a stellar career as a medical professional, leader and educator, and will be one to continue the recent progress that we have seen at Jefferson Healthcare. She understands the operation and politics of a nonprofit hospital, and what staffing requirement priorities best fit an evolving hospital. Her skills are medical staff management and “people” leadership skills.

Those talents on the board are needed – much more so than adding more financial expertise to a hospital that already has a progressive and accomplished CFO.

Please attend one of the candidate meetings and listen to Cheri. It is impressive.
