I think we should elect Bruce McComas as the next hospital commissioner because he has a patient-oriented perspective rather than a hospital-employee one.
I believe he would be in favor of a patient getting one appointment for more than one issue rather than two appointments. He would support your right to get estimated costs for procedures before services; if you wanted to compare laparoscopic vs. open repairs, and to receive timely billing rather than have those costs come in a year after surgeries.
If our president cuts support for rural hospitals, I’m confident [McComas] can sort the budget and preserve the hospital’s function for the patient.
He is personable and approachable and fair. His recent experience with medical services, losing his wife to cancer, cements his perspective as does his volunteering to serve on the hospital’s Patient Advisory Board.
All of the above make him the right choice.
