In order to have a balanced board, we need commissioners with many diverse talents and experience, including business, finance, and a strong volunteer background in hospital and community service.
Of the three candidates in the running for the hospital commission, only Bruce McComas has proven to have all of these things. He brings broad overall management, business and board experience, along with firsthand knowledge of Jefferson Healthcare.
McComas also brings an impressive history of volunteer service to Jefferson Healthcare and his community. He was Citizen of the Year in 2008.
With his MBA, he also brings the business experience necessary to make rational financial plans for our hospital. He spent five years as the community rep on the Financial Advisory Committee for the hospital, and now serves on the Patient and Family Advisory Committee, Oncology Support Team and Patient Financial Experience Task Force.
