East Jefferson beat Central Kitsap in girls tennis last week, with big wins in No. 1 and No. 2 singles and doubles in recent Olympic League action.
Maddie Hess outlasted the Cougars’ Peyton Hum 7-5, 7-5 in No. 1 singles.
Juniper Cervenka also prevailed for EJ against Lucy Severns, 6-4, 5-7, 10-8, in No. 2 singles.
In doubles play, the duo of Tiffany Bell and Sophia Arnovitz were too much for CK’s R. Ferrer and Gracie Luk, with a 7-5, 6-0 win in No. 1 doubles for East Jefferson.
In No. 2 doubles, Myka Briggs and Oliva Mattern came out on top against the Cougars’ B. Mimaki and K. Topness, 6-2, 5-6, 10-5.
In No. 3 doubles, EJ’s Caitlyn Boyd and Lily Morrison fell 2-6, 2-6 to S. Schaeffer and A. Watson.
Awstyn Sukert and Savannah Gallaway of East Jefferson battled but netted a No. 4 doubles loss to M. Legaspi and A. Yi, 4-6, 1-6.
