Eisenhour knows how to build coalitions | Letter to the editor

I recall Heidi Eisenhour years back as a very young vice chair of the Jefferson County Democrats. She has been preparing to serve in elected office for a long time.

Along the way Heidi has focused on our environment and its future. From 1995 to 2003 she was involved with the Nature Conservancy and Conservation Northwest on behalf of land conservation in rural communities. There she learned to help interest groups build coalitions in support of conservation projects on both sides of the Cascades by working with rural county commissions.

For example, two of these successful efforts were focused in Willapa Bay in southwest Washington and in Kittitas County.  She worked with diverse stakeholders such as Audubon chapters and Backcountry Horsemen as well as Democrat and Republican county commissioners, and industrial and corporate landowners.

Following a national search Heidi was selected to serve as chief operations officer at the Port Townsend Maritime Center.

Along her career path, Heidi has developed keen communication skills, I believe the keenest of which is listening. I consider listening by far the most important task of any elected official. Please vote for Heidi for District 2 commissioner. It’s high time!
