On Thursday Sept. 8, 2022, Einar Herbert Evanson passed away peacefully at the age of 79.
He was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Port Townsend, Washington to Bruce and Marjorie Evanson. He served two terms in the United States Air Force and retired from the Army National Guard.
Herb had a lifelong passion for classic cars, riding his Harley. He loved spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, working in his yard and caring for his animals.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Evanson; mother, Marjorie Daniels; and sister, Marilyn Davis. He is survived by his life partner, Lindy Hodge; daughters, Cheryl Peterson (Brian), Lynn L'Heureux (Kirk) and Marian Brooks (Greg); sisters, Maxine Robbins, Mary Crozier; brother, Dennis Baker; and grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Hannah, Lacey and Levi; and great-granddaughters, Lilah, Arianna and Everleigh.
A Celebration of Life to be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at the Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., Port Townsend, WA 98368. Potluck, please bring your favorite dish to share. We encourage you to drive your classic cars or ride your Harley in remembrance of Herb.
