Edward M. Knodle, Sr, 87, of Port Ludlow, Washington passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 23, 2025. A reception in Ed’s honor will be held for family and friends on April 13, 2025 at the Port Ludlow Bay Club from 1-3pm.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jan; children Ed, Erin, Shannon and Heidi; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and siblings Betty, Cliff, and Rosemary. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
Ed was born on October 26, 1937, in Richmond, Indiana to Elizabeth (McCormick) and Clifford Knodle. Ed enlisted in the US Navy in 1955. He served one deployment in Vietnam as a Hospital Corpsman with the US Marines. Upon his return from Vietnam, he received a commission as a Medical Service Corps officer achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After his retirement in 1978, he was employed at Providence and Swedish Medical Centers in Seattle, WA as a hospital administrator. He enjoyed a long retirement traveling the United States and Canada in his RV with Jan. He was very active in his community and the Bay Club. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ed will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
