JCS hosts 'Havana Nights' fundraiser at Fort Worden

Jefferson Community School hosts its fundraising “Havana Nights” gala from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 22 at Fort Worden Commons, 200 Battery Way.

The event is to evoke the sights, smells and tastes of Havana, Cuba, the destination of this year’s school-wide expedition, according to a press release.

“We foster awareness in our students that we are all global citizens,” said Sabin King, coordinator of this year’s fundraiser. “This is accomplished through an emphasis woven throughout our curriculum: that all of us have a responsibility to be aware of and consider the entire global community as we move forward into the future.”
