Kingston outlasted East Jefferson amid some tense back-and-fourths last week in girls varsity volleyball.
The play went five sets.
The Buccaneers carried the first set, 25-16, but East Jeff responded with a gritty 25-22 second set.
Kingston collected the third-set win, 25-18, then won the fourth, 25-11.
East Jefferson topped the Bucs 22-20 for the night capper.
“The girls played so well together and had some long and hard fought rallies,” said East Jefferson Coach Emily Zenz.
“I’m so proud of the team and their efforts together,” she said.
Sophie Patterson had one ace and two kills for EJ, while Jessica Hawley contributed three aces, one kill, and two tips.
Akira Anderson added three aces, six kills, and a tip, while Maya Wickens had two kills and a tip.
Macy Aumock had a busy evening, with one ace, three kills, one solo block, two assisted blocks, and two tips.
Katie Ballard finished with two kills and two assisted blocks for EJ.
