East Jefferson Rotary Club was busy placing more than 300 American flags on the morning of Saturday, May 29, to prepare the peninsula for the Memorial Day weekend.
From Chimacum to Port Ludlow, rows of Old Glory could be seen lining the road, waving in honor and remembrance.
The organization installs these flags on five holidays every year, flying them proudly on Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veterans Day.
Proceeds from the flags fund scholarships for local school students and other local community projects.
