The Eagles outlasted the Rangers in girls varsity basketball in a low-scoring affair late last week in Quilcene.
Evergreen Lutheran’s stifling defense was too much for a scrappy Quilcene squad, with the Eagles picking up their second win on the young season, 46-18.
The Rangers battled hard in the first quarter, tying the game at 8-8 at the end of the first stanza.
Evergreen Lutheran outscored Quilcene 11-6 in the second quarter, however, and led by five points or more for much of the third.
The Eagles finished out the third quarter nine points in front, 27-18, then held the Rangers scoreless in the fourth.
It was the second loss in a row for the Rangers, who fell to Tacoma Baptist 52-31 earlier in the week.
