Doris Fuller, long time resident of Cape George, passed away on April 21 at her Gig Harbor care home. She was 96. She grew up in Kingston and Everett. She was married to Ken Fuller. They lived in Ventura, CA, where son John was born. After Ken’s Navy service, they returned to WA and had a small farm in Pierce County, then built homes in Puyallup and Cape George.

Her career included high school secretary, hospital admitting clerk and fire district #6 secretary. She was a strong-minded woman, with a great work ethic and positive outlook on life.

Doris was much like “Auntie Mame.” She was a classy lady, and fun-loving social butterfly. She had a flair for entertaining, and added thoughtful touches to make others feel special. She enjoyed family gatherings, was an excellent cook, and a gracious hostess.

She loved to travel to the ocean  beaches and Palm Desert for sun and fun. She was active in her singles and hiking groups. She enjoyed salmon fishing, playing cribbage and bridge, was a baseball fan, and loved fresh flowers.

Doris was preceded in death by husband Ken, son John, identical twin sister Delores, all her other siblings and friend Slim. She is survived by daughter-in-law Laurie, grandson Mark and great-granddaughter Veta.

At her request, no service will be held. Cards may be sent to 1240 W. Sims Way, Ste #275, PT, WA 98368.
