Dolores Schanne’ Morisseau

Dolores set out on her next adventure early in the morning of November 18, 2019, just two weeks shy of her 83rd birthday. Dolores was born in New York City and raised in Flushing, Queens. After graduation from Bayside High School and a brief stint at Queen’s College, Dolores attended the Grace Institute and went to work at CBS. She married Kenneth Morisseau and moved to Virginia in 1958. She and Ken had two children, Anne Lavita and KC, Jr. In the mid-70s, she finished her education culminating with a master’s degree in Industrial Psychology from George Mason University. She worked as a human factors psychologist at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Maryland and the Institute for Energy Technology in Halden, Norway.

After she retired in 2001, she spent 17 years volunteering at Great Falls Park, part of theNational Park Service and the George Washington Memorial Parkway. In May of 2018, she moved to the Pacific Northwest to Poulsbo, WA. Most recently, she moved to Port Townsend to be closer to family.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Anne Schanne’, She is survived by her brother, Richard Schanne’ and wife Sandra, her daughter Anne and husband Robert, her son KC and Fletcher Williams who was like a son to her.
