District 2 Jefferson County Commissioner candidates to square off in Zoom webinar

Posted

The Jefferson County League of Women Voters and American Association of University Women-Port Townsend will present a webinar candidate forum featuring Jefferson County commissioner candidates next week.

The forum will feature candidates for District 2 on the Board of County Commissioners: Heidi Eisenhour and Lorna Smith.

The Zoom meeting is planned for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

The zoom link is posted at lwvwa.org/Jefferson, and the link includes a phone number that will allow participants to listen via phone rather than join the webinar via computer for an audio-only participation.

Smith and Eisenhour are both Democrats, and are running to replace David Sullivan, who decided against seeking another term. District 2 is the mid-county district that includes Chimacum, Hadlock, Irondale, Marrowstone Island, Kala Point, Woodland Hills and Cape George.

At the forum, the candidates will give timed opening and closing statements, and will answer questions submitted by the public.

Questions should be emailed no later than noon, Oct. 8, to lwvjeffcowa@gmail.com.

League officials said concise, unbiased questions will be given priority, and added that some questions may be combined for time purposes. Organizers of the forum hope to cover a wide range of subjects.

The forum will be moderated by Renee Klein.

KPTZ 91.9 FM will simulcast the event and also live stream the broadcast online at KPTZ.org.

It will also be recorded, edited for brevity, and posted on YouTube on Dennis Daneau’s channel.
