Diane was born in California where she attended El Camino College, and became a bookkeeper.

In the late 80’s, she learned programming and helped write historical naval war games. Later, she became network administrator for an actuarial company.

She married Terry Allen in 1995, and moved to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. There, she taught herself how to build websites and started a small business.

In 2000, she learned she had breast cancer, and she moved to Port Ludlow. She survived and was active with Team Survivor Northwest. In Port Ludlow, she grew her website business and worked with many people in the local community. Diane was so friendly and helpful that over time, she turned her business relationships into friendships, and many clients became best friends with her.

She was an active member of the community, including AAUW, and running with the Kitsap Tribabes. She loved animals, and her last 2 feline friends, Mac and Kui, predeceased her by a few years. She also loved marine mammals. From 2000-2008, she was a board member and technology chair of the American Cetacean Society, and rewrote and modernized the ACS website. She also worked helping students as a virtual mentor for the University of Washington. Diane passed away in Port Townsend after a battle with leukemia.

She is survived by her brother John, and nephews Adrian and Sidney, who live in California.
