Dennis Rath, age 86, died on October 22nd at his Kala Point home in Port Townsend where he lived for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, sons David and Stephen and daughter Cynthia, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
Dennis was born in Thunderhawk, North Dakota on March 27, 1933, one of nine children. When he was 5 years old, the family made the trek West to Grandview, Washington, where Dennis grew up. He attended Washington State University on a football scholarship and earned a degree in Education in 1957. He coached football and track in three different high schools and also taught Physical Education and Drivers Ed. Most of that time was spent in Prosser, Washington, where he retired. Dennis was a quiet, unassuming man, and will be remembered for his kindness to others and hard work ethic.
