Born in Seattle on Jan 7, 1946, David Joseph Lanza passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2024 in Poulsbo, WA after a long battle with dementia.
David grew up in the Seward Park neighborhood and attended St. Edwards grade school and Seattle Prep high school. He graduated in radio broadcasting from EWU in Cheney, WA.
His passion for cooking led him to open several restaurants including The Greenhouse Café in Spokane and Lanza’s Ristorante in Port Townsend and Poulsbo. David was an award-winning tennis player, avid yoga practitioner, chess and cribbage player, potter and gardener.
Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gloria Lanza and brother, James, he is survived by his children and siblings, Julie (Michael), Vincent (Laurinda), Gina, Mary (Genet), Lisa (Duke) and Lori (Steve). Donations can be made to marthaandmary.org.
