Darrell LeRoy Fett was born September 14, 1931 in Audubon, Iowa. He died August 16, 2019 in Port Ludlow, WA at the age of 87.

Darrell’s father Bruce George Fett and his mother Velma Violet Varble had two sons, Larry and Darrell. Darrell graduated from Audubon High School and entered college at Northwest Missouri State where he met Evelyn Mae McGregor. After two years he joined the Air Force. He maintained contact with Evelyn, writing her many letters. They were married August 1954 in Corning Iowa. After he was discharged, they moved to Colorado where he attended CU in Boulder, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation he went to work at General Electric in Syracuse New York where Daughter Janice and Son Douglas were born. His job transferred him to Oklahoma City for a short time then to Phoenix, AZ, back to upstate New York, then back to Arizona where he began working for Honeywell. In 1979 they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and finally, in 1992, retired from Honeywell to Port Ludlow.

Darrell was a wonderful husband of 64 years, and a loving father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He made friends easily, and the thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with Evelyn and their friends. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and play bridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn and brother Larry. He is survived by his Daughter Janice Fischer; Son Doug Fett (Carole); grandson Jesse Fischer (Christina) and great-granddaughters Makenzie and Madison; and grandchildren Leslie Taylor (Jeff) and Trevor Fett.

He will be dearly missed. A graveside service will take place Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Restlawn Memorial Park, Edmonds, WA.
