Cult of the criminal?

Wow. “Voting for Kennedy, No Matter What.” That was quite a column of praise, Ms. Falkenhagen, particularly after Kennedy bailed out and went groveling to the criminal, Trump, showing his real colors. What values to you now, no matter what?

Why do all the Trump supporters avoid the obvious? This is supposed to be a land of law and order. Trump constantly complains about crime. Yet he has committed crime after crime, adding to the nation’s statistics! Should wealth and privilege absolve you? No one is above the law. Period. Repeat that.

Where is the party of Eisenhower? The Republicans gave us a true, selfless commander; now they offer up a “bone-spurred,” self-aggrandizing bully. Remember Trump’s best ideas were putting immigrant children in cages and giving the rich a tax break. In stark contrast, the Democratic Party has been the party strongly supporting Medicare and Social Security, unions, infrastructure, science (climate change), healthcare (Obamacare), education (student loans), childcare (tax credits), and more. Who started the disastrous Iraq War on falsified evidence? Who got us out?

Trump reminds  me of Jim Jones, the cult leader of the late 1970s. Remember what happened to him and his followers?

No one could see through his phoniness. And yet today many don’t see Trump’s hypocrisy. (Don’t forget he was once a  registered Democrat! Talk about flip-flopping!) Trump should be ostracized not glorified. It’s beyond my ability to understand.

If you differ with Democrats on policy, then support your Republican Congressmen. But shame on those who respect the law and support a convicted felon. Trump’s wealth has bought him time, but he will pay for his crime in November.
