Craig Sanders, a longtime resident of Port Townsend, passed away May 27 in Dayton, Washington of a sudden heart attack at the age of 65. Born in Central California, Craig followed in his family footsteps by going into the trade industry and becoming a journeyman plumber and licensed mechanic. Craig moved to Port Townsend in 1983 and held various roles at Port Townsend Paper Company, including shift millwright. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the city for 9 years and coached several youth sports teams. He retired from the paper mill in 1999 and started Blue Sky Plumbing. He was an expert mechanic and quick to help others. Craig had a passion for adventure, enjoying his retirement years traveling around the country on his motorcycle and working on creative projects around the house. He is survived by his loving wife Kristi Kobetich, his children James and Elizabeth, Curtis and Kindra, and his grandchildren Kyla, Caden, and William. There are no formal arrangements planned for the Port Townsend area.
