Can we in Jefferson County agree that the minimum wage is insufficient and that our county commissioners and our City Council should vote to increase minimum wage to $15 per hour effective by this summer?
Do you think that by giving people more wages they would be more likely to be able to afford housing in our area?
Would they be able to purchase more things locally improving the tax collections by the county/city such that they could increase funding for our infrastructure which is in desperate need?
Are you willing to push this idea to those commissioners and council members remembering that it does not increase taxes at all?
Are you willing to be interested in the welfare of those hard working people at our local restaurants, hotels, motels, supermarkets, etc. who are struggling in this area just to survive?
