It has been a tough couple of years for small businesses and especially tough for small contractors. However, there are some public contracts available. It is a matter of knowing how to successfully bid, execute and close out a public project.
This is what people will learn at a workshop from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431 Water St.
Port Townsend, Jefferson County Homebuilder’s Association, PSE and Team Jefferson are presenting the workshop.
The workshop will include tips to conduct online searches for public contracts going out to bid.
Local agencies from around the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas will be on hand to apprise contractors of upcoming projects and to sign them up for their Small Works Rosters.
A representative from the Department of Navy will inform contractors which projects are upcoming and how to bid large projects or get information to submit a bid as a subcontractor to the general contractors that are presently on the awarded bidder’s list.
For information or reservations, call Catherine McNabb at 379-5089.
