Closest to home, in District 1 (Port Townsend) where we have two Democrats running for Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners. I’ve attended both of their candidate forums. Heather Dudley-Nollette and Ben Thomas offer us different skillsets, work styles, professional backgrounds and very different approaches to problem solving, even though their values are similar.
Two months ago I didn’t know either candidate, but after a one-hour walk on the Larry Scott Trail with Heather, I was totally convinced that we need her on the Board of County Commissioners. I offered to manage her campaign if she decided to run. Everything I’ve learned about Heather since that moment has reinforced my certainty that she is best equipped to fulfill the duties and exercise the authority of a county commissioner.
Please join me in voting Heather Dudley-Nollette for Jefferson County Commissioner.
Ruth Gordon
Jefferson County Clerk, Retired Port Townsend
