Commander George E. Meacham II, “Bud”

Posted

January 27, 1941 - October 13, 2018

Commander George E. Meacham passed the 13th of October in his home in Port Townsend after a long battle with bone marrow cancer. He graduated with a BA at University of Utah and got his Master’s at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA. Bud served 23 years in the Navy. He taught school for several years in Quilcene.

Bud loved family gatherings, reading, walking his dog and golfing with friends at the golf course.

Bud is survived by his wife Patty, his brother Chuck Meacham, sister Karen Castle, sons David Meacham, Michael Meacham, Vincent Chohrach and Adam Chohrach; grandchildren Justin Chohrach, Heather Ann Chohrach, Gavin Chohrach and Casey Chohrach and seven great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as strong moral compass and support by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

A private service for the family has already been held. In lieu of flowers donations to cancer research would be appreciated. We would like to thank Jefferson Healthcare, hospital doctors and the oncology department. They all made the long journey much easier.
