City displays pitiful attempts at public art | Letter to the editor

It’s no secret that Port Townsend’s public art ranges from the un-artful to the inappropriate and right on through to the ridiculous.

It’s embarrassing.

If the currently proposed, mildly obscene, weird bit of marine mini-life does indeed become our next piece of public art, I think the chamber of commerce should create a special Port Townsend public art brochure that will introduce all the tourists to our collection of installations so they can get a taste of the art culture of the town.
