Chimacum farm hosting socially distanced tree-planting campout

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Chimacum's Mozaic Farm is all systems go for its Plant-Out Camp-Out.

The planting effort is set to take place starting at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 through 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.

The weekend event will see participants divided into small groups to plant fruit and nut trees, as well as instructional workshops on contour-based orchardry, permaculture principles, erosion control and soil-building. Meals will be prepared from a potlatch-style of gathered food.

Due to the pandemic, organizers for the event ask that participants wash their hands, maintain social distance, be responsible for their own dishes, and bring masks and other personal sanitation items.
