Sunday, June 12, is Race Amity Day: A day to reflect on the need to reach out to the many diverse races and people in our very divided nation.
Today our nation, society, and government may not be broken, but they are damaged and in need of repair.
One way to accomplish this repair is by connecting with each other in friendship, harmony, and peace at our local community level. While this is not a new idea, in today’s fractured society it would appear that many of us have forgotten the importance of working toward a civil society. This is what Race Amity is all about.
To honor this day, please take five minutes to watch a video introduction to Race Amity at tinyurl.com/FORA-ONE. Help the Friends of Race Amity promote a proactive, friendly, multicultural, and nurturing community in Jefferson County. Add your name to our mailing list at FORAofJC@ gmail.com.
