Caroline McNulty passed away on May 10, 2022, in hospice in Edina, Minnesota. She was born in Portland, Oregon in 1943 and eventually moved to Minnesota where she finished school, married and started a family. Caroline and husband Larry later came to Port Townsend in search of a beautiful place to retire and spent some of the happiest years of their life living in Kala Point. She had only recently returned to Minnesota after nearly 20 years in Port Townsend.

Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and also more recently by her beloved Goldens, Brandi and Hanna.

Caroline is survived by son Scott McNulty (wife Jody Janus) of Wisconsin and their three sons, Ty, Van and Ray; her daughter Karen Bussa (Pete) of Alaska and their daughters Sarah Bounds (Christopher) of Germany, and Meghan Terhune (Patrick) of Portland; her sister Mary Hoeppner and family of New York; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Caroline also leaves behind many wonderful friends in and around Port Townsend, and in and around Minneapolis as well. Wherever she lived, Caroline enjoyed contributing to the community around her in so many ways, and was an avid gardener, devoted friend, and lover of Golden Retrievers.

Caroline’s remains will be laid to rest in Portland, Oregon next year in a private family gathering in accordance with her wishes.

The family is filled with profound gratitude to N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, Minnesota for the incredible care received there during our final days with her. In honor of her memory, donations could be made to N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, to the Jefferson Healthcare Hospice, or to Golden Bonds Rescue in Portland, Oregon.
