Carol Colley passed away peacefully on June 8, 2022 after a stroke. She battled several health challenges with a determined will to live life fully. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, friend, and community member for many in Port Townsend and beyond.

Carol worked hard her whole life to achieve professional goals and spent the final years of her career as controller of the Department of Justice in Oregon. Carol shared her passion for education by supporting her two children’s pursuits and through active involvement in the American Association of University Women including serving on committees in Port Townsend, Washington, and Lincoln City, Ore. She was grateful for the supporting love and fun shared with her Team Survivor friends.

Carol treated many people as “adopted,” extended family with her motherly personality including volunteering as a reading aid at the school. Carol loved good food and beautiful flowers, but was most calmed by the presence of the ocean. Carol loved animals, particularly dogs, and friends are invited to donate to the Humane Society of Jefferson County in her honor.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Fort Worden beach kitchen shelter in August for friends, family, kids and dogs. Date to be determined (invites through word of mouth or reaching out to micaela@seedalliance.org for more details).
