I have been in the Conservation Futures group with Lorna Smith for several years.
One very important aspect to notice is that Lorna never gives up. Her concern for the people we serve through this program is admirable to say the least. Lorna cares for the environment; she cares for our farmers; she cares for our forests, waterways, rivers, streams, and wildlife. Lorna has expressed many times the critical need for more housing and bringing in more jobs — and I know she will tackle all those issues head-on.
One fact that most folks may not know is that Lorna will always have an open door, and she will fight for each one of us — no matter what our political affiliation happens to be. Why? Because she cares. Because she listens. Her invaluable and actual experience with running a business, an outreach group, a nonprofit, and a county agency in the past puts her experiences at an advantageous level for all of us. Lorna will not need extra training in handling the county business.
Lorna has been endorsed by our very own State Representative Mike Chapman, by the Tarboo Ridge Coalition, by the Sierra Club, by the Washington Conservation Futures, by the National Women’s Political Caucus, and by local farmers, plus many others.
I urge you to vote for the best candidate we have: Lorna Smith!
