In hopes of adding flexibility to visitors to the Olympic National Park, the park staff is trying a new reservation system.
The Olympic National Park has announced that reservations for the Kalaloch, Mora, Hoh Rainforest, and Fairholme campgrounds have changed for the 2023 summer season.
Certain sites in each campground can be reserved six months in advance, others two weeks in advance, and finally some are only four days in advance.
Park staff recommends visiting recreation.gov and searching for the campground of interest in order to see exact reservation windows for each campsite.
Recreation.gov has recently added the option for parks to have multiple reservation windows to accommodate multiple trip planning strategies.
Staff is also planning to change backcountry permit reservations with all of those reservations released on one date.
