Brinnon information website adds section on coronavirus

Mark Rose’s information resource website for Brinnon already features sections devoted to the area’s history and habitat, as well as its mountain, water and camping opportunities, but on April 12, he added a page for all subjects connected to COVID-19.

In a post on the “Brinnon Community Page” public Facebook group, Rose explained he created the coronavirus subheading to compile local services available during the pandemic and encouraged anyone who might suggest additions or revisions to contact him at info@brinnoninfo.com.

Rose’s site is brinnoninfo.com/coronavirus, and its listings are divided up as follows:

 

FOOD ON THE CANAL

• The Geoduck Tavern is open for to-go orders from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and will even bring orders to your car, as long as you call 360-796-4430 in advance. The menu includes burgers, fries, fish and chips, chowder, fresh-baked bread and more. The Geoduck’s Facebook page is “TheGeoduck.”

• The Halfway House is open for to-go orders from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Call 360-796-4715 to order, and the pickup address is 41 Brinnon Lane. The menu includes home-baked pies, cookies and cinnamon rolls, and full Easter dinners. The Halfway House’s Facebook page is “Halfway House Restaurant and RV Park.”

• The Hama Hama Oyster Company has implemented “Operation Farmgate” to keep workers employed and distribute food locally and regionally. Oysters and clams, smoked salmon, beef, crab cakes and other items are available to go by calling 360-877-5811. Discounted rates are available on some items for delivery to your home via FedEx on Thursdays or Fridays. Hama Hama’s Facebook page is “HamaHamaOysters.”

• Pleasant Harbor Marina has pizza to go. Call Krista at 360-796-4611, ext. 3, to make an order, and order by noon on Saturdays to pick up between noon and 5 p.m. Groceries are also available by scheduling pick-ups at the same number. Employees will bring orders outside, and can also arrange contact-less pick-ups. Pleasant Harbor Marina’s Facebook page is “PleasantHarborHoodCanal.”

• The Brinnon General Store has gas and groceries and is open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call 360-796-4400.

• The Brinnon Food Bank provides drive-through service every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 360-701-0483 or visit jeffersoncountyfoodbanks.org/brinnon.html for more information.

 

BRINNON BUSINESS

• Farmer’s Daughter Feed carries pet supplies. Call or text 360-796-4509, and the owner will come to the store. The Facebook page is “FarmersDaughterFeed.”

• Duckabush Mushrooms carries shiitake mushrooms and a variety of mushroom powders for immune support. For discounts, use the coupon code “local.” Call 360-302-1585 for pick-up or drop-off.

QUILCENE

• Gear Head Deli offers EasyGo meals, plus pulled pork, ribs, brisket, burgers, coffee, soups, sides, sandwiches, meats and cheeses by the pound. Open for pick-up orders only from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. Option 1: Call 360-301-3244, order and pay with credit card, then call when you arrive and an employee will bring it out curbside. Option 2: Call or order from the window, pay with credit card or cash, then pick up the order at the next window. Please be respectful of social distancing. CHIMACUM

• The Chimacum Corner Farmstand has an online order form at chimacumcorner.com. If you’re in a high-risk group and worried about shopping, they’ll pack your groceries and deliver them to your car in their parking lot for a $10 fee. You don’t even need to get out of your car. For $15 more, they will deliver to you in Brinnon.

 

PORT HADLOCK

• Hadlock Building Supply remains open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing both curbside pick-ups and deliveries to Brinnon for those who do not want to risk going into the store. Some supplies are limited, but folks can call the store at 360-385-1771 to order, pay over the phone and verify stock. The Hadlock Building Supply Facebook page is “HadlockBuildingSupply.”
