Bless the Beasts and Children fun run in Port Townsend

Parents, children, and pets with the need for speed can all let loose and run at the Bless the Beasts and Children 0.5K Fun Run.

This easygoing “race,” will take place from the PT Brewery to the Pourhouse with good-natured hijinks starting at
11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25.

The event, produced by The Humane Society of Jefferson County and the Church of BuVu of Port Townsend, supports several Jefferson County nonprofit organizations that support beasts and children: the Humane Society of Jefferson County; the YMCA “Building Futures” program; the Applied Education Foundation, devoted to offering kids participations in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics; and Kicks for Kids.

A $40 donation covers race entry, T-shirt, drink token, cookies and coffee at the mid-way point called Halfway Cafe (for tired runners), and the aforementioned hi-jinks.

There is no charge for children and pets, and costumes are encouraged.

For those who’d like to offer their blessings but only “run” the “race” in their imagination, there’s a $25 ticket for that.

Both in-person and in-imagination tickets can be found at guestlist.co/events/693039.
