In the May 16, 2018 edition of the Leader, Detective Joe Nole was given 3/4 of a page to state why he was running for the office of Jefferson County Sheriff. This was accompanied by a great portrait-style photograph. The headline was: “Detective declares candidacy for sheriff.” This would appear to be a news item but is, in actuality, a well done free political ad. In order to give balanced journalist coverage I trust that The Leader will run a similar piece for Sheriff Stanko, allowing hime to outline why he thinks he should win another term.
