B here now. B in the moment. B liberated.

Wyeth “B” Barclay started his music career in 2001, in the heart of Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. At that time his onstage moniker was “Dub B.”

“I built the first of its kind, premier digital hip hop and R&B focused recording studio,” he said. “That facilitated a significant portion of the hip hop movement in the northwest from 2001 to 2009.”

B named his endeavour SeaReal Studios, headquarters of SeaReal Records and SeaReal Production.

“I was at the forefront of running a successful independent music label at the start of the digital music frontier,” B said.

There were several offers to sell out to major record companies, but B opted to stay independent, he said.

“During that time I released three full-length solo LPs as Dub B.”

Those albums were 2003’s “SeaReality,” mixed by Grammy nominated engineer Ryan Hadlock; 2006’s “The SeaReal Way,” mixed by Grammy Award winner and multi-platinum engineer Lance Pierre and multi platinum engineer Tommy D, both of Death Row Records; and 2010’s “Fruition,” also mixed by Pierre and Tommy D.

“The SeaReal Way” was the first time Pierre and Tommy D had collaborated together on the same album since 2Pac’s “Makaveli,” B said.

In 2009, B moved to Los Angeles to work with major recording studios, he said.

Over the years, B collaborated with Bone Thugs, Sir Mix A Lot, Snoop Dogg, Scarface,The OutLawz, Bobby Valentino, Val Young, Reggie Watts, DJ Battlecat, and Play N Skillz.

From 2010 to 2017, B launched, co-produced and hosted the first of its kind Golf & Hip Hop TV Show entitled “Above Par,” filming episodes from coast to coast. During that time, B interviewed Carson Daly, Anthony Anderson, Kurtis Blow and Alice Cooper along with golf stars Rickie Fowler and Bubba Watson.

In 2016, B decided to step back from the music industry entirely beginning in early 2016 so he could explore his spirituality, he said. It was then he dropped the “Dub” from his moniker.

“I feel I was duplicating reality – duplicating the world and the conditions of the entertainment business I thought I should emulate. I was mirroring it and I immersed myself into the mirror.”

He made his way to Marrowstone Island to review his life, he said.

He decided to “Be here now. Be in the moment. Be liberated. Live in that peace. I am not dubbing anymore, I am living in the B.”

In 2017 through the beginning of spring 2019, B stepped in as president and producer of the independent record label New 5 Entertainment, where he facilitated the production and national rollout of Andy Stokes’ 2018 debut album “Now.” The artwork for the album was created by Milo Redwood.

Stokes’ song “Best Day Ever” rose to the top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100. A second song by Stokes, “We on Da Flo” featuring Snoop Dogg, was on the Adult R&B Billboard charts until mid-January.

B has represented Redwood since June 2018.

“I won’t work with any other artist right now,” B said. “We decided to collaborate as artist and art dealer, and as of that day the art market will never be the same. Just watch and collect.”
