Audrey Mae Wilson McBride passed away Jan. 1, 2023 at the Jefferson Healthcare Medical Center.

Born Dec. 12, 1937 in Tieton, Washington to Herman P. Wilson and Dorothy M. Harris. Audrey had three sons, seven daughters and many grandchildren. Two of her sons (Edward and Daniel) preceded her in death. The surviving children are: Laura, Debra, Eva, Janette, Kimberly, Wendy, Richard and Judy.

In her lifetime, she had worked as a cook for a construction company who was building a hunting lodge in Alaska, worked on aircraft for Boeing and worked for New Day Fisheries.

Before retiring, she built her own cabin and moved off-grid. She had a pioneer spirit. She cooked on a wood stove, grew her own garden and raised pigs and chickens. She picked wild blackberries with her grandchildren and made awesome homemade pies. She was very loving and had a contiguous smile. Because of her health problems, she moved to Port Townsend with her son Richard until she passed away from cancer.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m March 18, 2023 in the Fred Lewis Scout Cabin, 3075 Discovery Road, Port Townsend. More information will be available closer to the date on Facebook at Swisher’s Family Group Chat.
